Adventures 4 Kidz is committed to preparing kids with essential skills, strategies, and tools that will be valuable for their future jobs.
Our Internship Program provides direct experience in customer service and coaching camp participants. These experiences give kids an advantage over their peers and a noteworthy addition to their resumes. Furthermore, it boosts their self-confidence in their abilities as they apply for jobs and enter the workforce for the first time.
Internship Program
After completing our Leadership Training, students can apply for our Internship Program where they can further develop their skills, gain valuable experience, and boost their confidence in preparation for employment. Although admission to the program is not guaranteed due to limited space, the application process itself is a great opportunity for kids to create application materials and practice interviewing skills.
Our 25-day Internship Program is available during the summer at all Adventures 4 Kidz camps. Please review all details before applying for the Internship Program.

Working 25 full days in a three month time frame
A consistent schedule -- typically between three and five days per week -- which will be agreed upon before hiring
Some flexibility in working additional hours that include evenings and weekends
Obtaining prior approval for schedule modifications or time off
Leaning in, developing skills and doing their best
Setting a good example for other interns and participants
Working responsibly and professionally

Developing real-life work experience to include in a resume
Free rentals with one free guest, with reservation and prior approval, during open shop hours

Strong swimmers with comfort in open water (San Francisco Bay)
Physically fit with the ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to approximately 45 pounds
Able to sit, stand, walk, or paddle/kayak for extended periods of time

Interview with direct supervisors
Written parental consent is required for the internship application and schedule commitment

Ability to work well with the programs director, staff, instructors, interns, volunteers, youth participants, parents, organizations, clients, and the surrounding community
Heightened focus on risk management, group management and safety in an outdoor setting
Excellent customer service skills including the ability to respond courteously and knowledgeably to the needs of all participants and the surrounding community
A high degree of initiative, self-motivation and ability to motivate others
Ability to create and contribute to a positive, inclusive, and productive working atmosphere
Excellent communications skills with customers, staff and supervisors

Weekly check-ins with direct supervisors to develop your performance and keep an open line of communication
Monthly written reviews so interns and parents can be informed of areas of both excellence and needed development
Continuous improvement of paddling and safety skills by taking advantage of coaching and rentals

Junior Staff Position
After finishing the Internship Program, outstanding interns will have the opportunity to apply for paid roles with Adventures 4 Kidz. Paid positions at Adventures 4 Kidz include instructing summer camps, leading kids parties, and supervising private events. It's important to note that completing the Internship Program does not guarantee an invitation to apply for paid positions. Interns will receive feedback during the program to help them identify if they are on track to be considered for a paid role.
